BLUE RIBBON RIDE 2005

Welcome to the CMA

Blue Ribbon Rides are organised to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer and to raise funds for the cancer research.

Did you know that:

  • the death rate for prostate cancer is higher than that for breast cancer

  • Many men are developing early-stage symptoms in their 40s

  • In many cases the symptoms don't appear until the cancer is well-developed

  • For many men this cancer is slow moving, but in some cases  more vigorous form of the cancer develops

  • As with any cancer, it has to be dealt with early for the treatment to be very effective

  • Chances of contraction are increased if there is a family history

  • Men should be getting checked regularly once they they are in their 40s and the tests need to be effective - not all tests are accurate!
