Where in the World? 2007 2006 2005 2004 2003 2002
Since 2002, the Victorian arm of CMA Australia has been raising funds to buy small motorcycles for pastors in developing countries. These pastors face huge problems in reaching their scattered people. Walking or a push bike are often the only alternatives and the gift of a motorcycle opens up great ministry opportunities.

2005: Angkol Tangwal in Bekisama, West Timor
Besikama is an isolated town on the south coast of West Timor, about 30 klms from the East Timor border. The minister there serves 16 congregations over a large area. The region is very hilly and the roads poor and during the wet season public transport virtually shuts down.
West Timor and the surrounding islands are some of the poorest parts of Indonesia with high mortality rates, lack of education and little infrastructure. Congregations in the area cannot afford to pay a full wage so the minister cannot finance his own transport. He serves with the Evangelical Christian Church which is in partnership with the Uniting Church of Australia.
A trail bike suitable for the conditions (pictured) cost sixteen million Indonesian rupiahs which is around $2,500 Australian dollars.

2003: Sunshine Childrens' Centre in Cambodia
Thanks to a generous response to the 2003 appeal and a strong Australian dollar CMA was able to provide money for two bikes for the Sunshine Centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The Centre is a drop in centre for working children aged from six to sixteen. It provides opportunities for formal and informal education - no mean task when many, even teenagers, have never even held a pencil.
