Cancer Awareness Ride
4 September 2010
Stage 1

Meet at Myrtleford RSL, Smith St  (behind Myrrtleford Hotel)  10.00 am for smoko
(this will be a fundraiser for legacy)

Stage 2

Ride to Wodonga RSL in Reid St for a BBQ lunch from 12:30 and a talk by an expert on detection and treatment of prostate cancer.
                                            Entry - $20 for the rider and $5 for pillions
                               Bring along a t-shirt and get it screen printed with ride logo
                                                 There will be a fund raising raffle,
                             funds raised will go to the prostate cancer foundation of Australia  (PCFA)

The Ride’s primary objective is to raise awareness of prostate cancer, and this means that it should be attracting new folk all the time. To achieve this we need to increase the area covered.

The plan for this year is to have groups from various areas converge to a central point – probably Myrtleford this time - then all ride to Wodonga for the BBQ and presentation on cancer diagnosis and treatment. This will be presented by either a local urologist or a speaker from the Prostate Cancer Federation of Australia (PCFA). Wodonga area people would ride out to Myrtleford to meet the others, returning via the designated route. We will not ride as a formal group with ride captain, tail-end-charlie etc, but each participant will receive a route plan showing designated meeting location and time, and will be free to ride at their own chosen pace (within the speed limit of course). We are keeping Wodonga as the final location because of the active support we are receiving from the people there.
